OCTOPUS URBANSIM - event completed

We’re so happy to have organised our second live event! It was a wonderful experience, and we hope everyone felt the same way.

We aimed to present an often overlooked topic in a fun and engaging way, and we hope we managed to keep your attention, deliver the message, and spark further thoughts.
We jumped on stage with our octopus and managed to tackle a crucial question:
How can we objectively detect bad urban development – and prevent it?

We believe everyone was quite surprised that we identified eight key urban processes of a bad urban development via the analogy of  eight wild characteristics of an octopus.

We were honestly amazed by the Q&A session, which lasted about 45 minutes. We didn’t expect such a lively exchange, and it shows that the topic truly resonated with many of you.

More material on this concept is coming soon, and we hope the idea reaches even more people.
Following discussions with friends and supporters after the event, we’ve gathered several ideas to stay engaged and continue building a community around these often-neglected yet incredibly important urban topics:

-Maintain ongoing conversations — Q&A alone shows there’s a lot to talk about
-Organise thematic events in playful and provocative formats
-Collaborate with stand-up comedians to present the topics in different languages
-Bring similar events to different municipalities across Brussels
-Create small theatrical performances inspired by the themes

We  also managed to record the presentation so we will find a way how to share it soon.

And yes… we’re definitely preparing much more!
